Pompeii was a city of ancient Rome that was buried by the great eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. The city, which was buried so violently and suddenly, is in an excellent state of preservation, showing most of its buildings, decorative elements, and even the remains of some of its inhabitants.

The Forum
The Forum

The Forum was a square almost 150 metres long, surrounded by important buildings, where Pompeii's business, public life, religious activity and the administration of justice took place. Although it is one of the best-preserved forums of antiquity, many of its statues have disappeared and only a few of the columns that surrounded it remain.

Temple of Apollo
Temple of Apollo

The Temple of Apollo, located very close to the forum and dedicated to a Greek god, is another of the most emblematic places to visit in Pompeii. This temple, built in the 8th or 7th century BC, is one of the oldest in the city and today you can see the staircase leading to a podium and several columns. The statues that were found are preserved in the Archaeological Museum of Naples.

Faun's House

The House of the Faun, built in the 2nd century BC and excavated in 1830, is one of the most famous buildings to see in Pompeii as well as being one of the largest (3000 square metres with two large atriums) and most luxurious Roman houses in the city, being decorated with all kinds of works of art.
